STATE financialization is a collaborative project exploring the nexus between statecraft and market-based finance
Financialization has become the focal point for researchers who study how finance is reshaping the world in its own image.
The State Financialization (StateFin) project investigates how governmental actions unfold through the expansion of financial markets. Governments are certainly vulnerable to risk-oriented and digitally intensive financial markets. Yet, politicians and policymakers can use financial practices and devices to exercise statecraft in a finance-mediated fashion.
StateFin draws on an interdisciplinary research platform at the interface of International Political Economy, Economic Geography and Organization Theory.
